Come one, come all!
One of my new favorite things to do in the classroom is to plan an entire day around a theme. Theme days are meant to be super engaging and fun. Go all out and decorate your classroom. Include special snacks for the day. Make your classroom theme day as big or as simple as you want! Today I will show you how to have a classroom carnival day.
Carnival Theme Day
This carnival theme day is perfect to use in conjunction with your school carnival or at the end of the school year. Engaging, standards-based activities are included for all subjects. This includes activities for reading, math, writing, language, science, and social studies. There are even some activities that are just for fun! Activities could be stretched out over a few days or even a week. Minimal prep work is needed, and your students will LOVE it!!
Here are two of my favorite activities from Carnival Theme Day:
Carnival Ride Research
Students will research the history of common carnival/ fair rides. Then use the graphic organizer to gather information. Next write a summary using the writing page. Finally, follow up the research by designing your own carnival game. I know the kiddos will love this one!

Water Coin Drop Experiment
Students will love playing and learning the science behind the Water Coin Drop game. This experiment requires minimal supplies. It includes teacher directions, student experiment guiding pages, and informational text about the science behind the game. Students get to test it out and record the results.

There is so much more but I donβt want to give away all the fun here! Head to my TPT store and grab the whole unit here!

I’d love to hear about theme days you have used in the classroom!
