The holiday season is such a fun time in the classroom, but for a teacher it can also be a little overwhelming. There are so many things to do and celebrate in a short period of time. It can make your head spin! I have created a lot of great resources to help make December festive and a little bit easier for teachers. Some of these December activities for elementary students resources are Christmas focused. While others are not, so they can fit into any type of classroom you may be in!

Gingerbread Classroom Ideas
With so many gingerbread classroom ideas, I decided to make it another theme day! This gingerbread theme day is prefect for that week before winter break when you need something fun but engaging for your kids. Gingerbread Day has everything from recipe sequencing, reading and ELA activities to a fun STEM project. It is designed for a full day of fun, but can be spilt up and used as you’d like as well. With all the lesson plans included, you can just print and go. These activities are not really Christmas-focused, so perfect for those classrooms that don’t celebrate the holiday.

Christmas Boom Cards
My Christmas themed boom cards are perfect for reviewing skills before the break! Kids won’t even feel like they are working with the fun Christmas themed practice. Many math skills are available. Boom cards are perfect for math centers!

You can find all of my boom cards here.
Christmas Math and Literacy Worksheets
This resource is a perfect choice for a busy teacher who wants to add some Christmas themed, standards-based activities to their plans! This unit is full of over 50 pages of math and literacy worksheets ready to print and use! It is ideal for third and fourth grades!

Elf Theme Day
Here is another perfect resource to help you survive those high energy days leading up to winter break! You will love having meaningful, standards-based activities AND an entire day of instruction planned out for you! My favorite part of Elf Day is the STEM project that is included! Students are challenged to design and build a way for Santa to slow down an ornament as it is dropped into a chimney. How fun is that?

December ELA and Math Worksheets
My final December favorite is my December Math and ELA Worksheet unit, and it covers more than just Christmas! This resource also includes activities about Hanukkah, Pearl Harbor and the story of St. Nicholas. My monthly themed units are the perfect blend of many important holidays, themes and events from the entire month. It’s a no brainer, must have for the month of December!

I hope some of these resources will take the stress out of your December planning this year! I know how crazy those last weeks before winter break can feel in the classroom! Happy holidays friends!
