My goal is to provide busy teachers with practical, useful, easy to implement resources, advice, & tips.
I’m a former elementary teacher turned TPT author. I spent twelve years in the classroom in two different states teaching 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades as well as reading intervention. I made the difficult decision to leave the classroom when my husband received a job opportunity out of state. I loved my current school and coworkers so much that I couldn’t imagine starting my teaching career over at a new school in another new state. With young kids at home, leaving my teaching career gave me the opportunity to spend more time with my husband and kids.
I have four kids, ranging from a teenager (eek! I can’t believe it) down to a toddler. I love “glamping” in our motorhome, hanging with my family at the beach or the tennis court, and visiting Disney World as much as possible.
Classroom teachers have one of the toughest jobs out there. Teaching is a continual juggling act of meeting student needs, administration expectations, pressure to meet standards, creating extraordinary learning activities, organizing and managing a classroom, and so much more. We try to juggle it all with the aim of being the best possible teacher for our students and maintaining some semblance of a life outside the classroom. The truth is, we can’t do it all. We make mistakes. We get tired and frustrated and overwhelmed. This is why I created a TPT store many years ago. If something I created can make the life of another teacher just a little easier, then I am here for it.
